October 2023 has been a month of giving for CharityRx, as we are proud to announce that we have donated clothing, household items, hygiene products, and personal care items to local shelters. This donation would not have been possible without our users’ continuous support and generosity across the nation. We are proud that CharityRx supports women and children fleeing abuse and provides them with the essentials they need during this difficult time.
CharityRx is a prescription discount card company that helps people save on their medication costs while supporting a worthy cause. Every prescription filled with the CharityRx card at a participating pharmacy in October generated a donation to organizations that assist women and children fleeing abuse. Our users’ contributions have allowed us to make a significant impact in supporting these vulnerable individuals.
According to recent statistics from the National Domestic Violence Hotline, every minute, 24 people in the United States are victims of rape, physical violence, or stalking by an intimate partner. Additionally, 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men will experience severe physical violence by an intimate partner in their lifetime. These alarming numbers highlight the urgent need for support and resources for those affected by domestic violence.
We also want to acknowledge and thank our team members who went above and beyond in donating to local shelters. Your generosity and dedication have made a significant difference in the lives of those who are seeking refuge from abuse. We are grateful for your actions and unwavering support in helping CharityRx support women and children.
It was really special that I could have my whole family help with our donation to Verde Valley Sanctuary. Our 2- and 3-year-olds were more along for the ride, but my wife and my 13-year-old did most of the shopping while I stayed with the younger ones. We all donated together, which was memorable, and took some pictures. Incredible opportunity!
I heard about Genesis Joy House through a church friend. I love to help my local community and be able to donate the items in person.
I was looking for an organization to support, and I met someone on a church board at a Bible study I visited. I asked him if there was a shelter they work with, and he recommended this one. The ladies at Cradle of Hope were so thankful and overjoyed about the items, loved sharing about what they do, and just kept saying thank you sincerely. They asked about what we do and loved hearing about all the charities we support. I also enjoyed shopping for the items, imagining how the items would bless the people. Their gratitude made the experience so worthwhile, and I want to chase that feeling.
Penelope House is a well-known organization in my area, and I was so honored to have been able to help supply them with the needed items. I’ve known several women who have sadly had to use their services, and this safe haven was so good to them and the community. Donating to Penelope House was such an excellent opportunity to be a part of.
I felt so blessed to have my daughter with me so I could teach her a little more about this charity (although a sensitive subject). Having her be a part of purchasing the items was so fun and rewarding, as was watching her be excited about helping others. We also had a double whammy; she had a math lesson while adding up all the items in the buggy to stay within the designated amount!
Our Sisters’ Closet provides clothes and other necessities for less fortunate women living in the Oklahoma City YWCA shelter.
I chose this charity because it provides a shelter for local pregnant women. My daughter and I had a fantastic time donating to In My Shoes.
After asking around, I learned that the Hope House of Kansas City shelter does the most for our community. Shopping and donating was a lot of fun. I always wish I could do more.
Willow Domestic Violence Center has been in the news quite a bit lately, and that brought my attention to them. As we say here at CharityRx, “The Purpose is the Prize.” I’m rewarded every day with giving back. Helping others is what matters in our world.
WEAVE, Inc. provides fantastic resources to women, children, and men escaping violence. The wish list I received was helpful. I shopped for quality/affordable towels, dishes, phone power banks, and stainless steel water cups. Supporting this charity was very rewarding for me. I thoroughly enjoyed shopping for quality items their clients need to start a new life. The WEAVE representative, Shantay Johnson, was a delight to work with from the start to the end of delivery. They all appreciated the donations and loved the unique way we “pay it forward” to those in need.
I have worked with The Shade Tree previously, and they especially needed a lot of feminine hygiene products. My wife and I had the opportunity to donate at their location, and it was a phenomenal experience. I am so honored to be able to participate in this event every year and will always continue to do so if it’s available.
The Courageous Women Association Shelter in Oakland, California, desperately needed help. Costco was jammed with pre-holiday shoppers, and I am not a patient shopper. I had to drop off at a UPS store for security reasons. I would have preferred to drop off the items at the shelter, but I understand.
Proverello House serves as a shelter for both women and men experiencing homelessness. The hardest part of this experience was trying to stretch the dollars. If I participated again, I would call first to find out what they need most.
Family Violence Prevention Services, Inc. is a nonprofit that I found, and I believe in their cause. The shopping and donating experience was great because I saw their expressions when I dropped off the items. It’s an experience that will last a lifetime.
Women’s Center of Brevard is a local women’s center, and they help families get back on their feet. This experience was fulfilling. It makes a difference when I can be involved in the giving, making it more personal and fulfilling. I love it! I appreciate all that CharityRx does.
Once I researched Safe Alliance in Austin, I knew I wanted to donate to them because they have helped a lot of women and children suffering from domestic violence. I had a great time shopping.
I really enjoyed being able to shop and deliver these items to WestCare. It was nice to know they needed the items and their clients would use them. They were wonderful on the phone–very appreciative and excited to work with us. I loved this! I was so happy that I was able to participate and help CharityRx support women and children fleeing abuse. It was fantastic to give actual items.
