A little about me:
I was born on August 13, 1956, in a small town in southern Alabama. I left home in 1971 at age 15 with no destination in mind. By divine intervention, I was given a ride to Washington DC, and from there, I ended up in Brooklyn, New York. I experienced temporary homelessness, but it taught me endurance, perseverance, self-reliance, and what it means to walk by faith, not sight. I believe in living by the golden rule: Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.
I have two sons, ages 42 and 43, a wonderful daughter-in-law, four grandkids, and a great-grandson whom I love very much. I met a wonderful woman in August of 2021, and she has brought so much joy, fun, and happiness into my life. Initially, I had to adjust to having someone special in my life, but it was well worth the adjustments.
I love life and reading, especially nonfiction books, of which I own a whole library. Some of my favorites are “The Power of Your Subconscious Mind” by Dr. Joseph Murphy, “Success Through A Positive Mental Attitude” by Napoleon Hill and W. Clement Stone, and many more. I love music and am currently taking music lessons.
How did you get started?
I started with CharityRx as a referral from someone my brother knew, and she knew Anita and asked me to give Anita a call. At first, I wasn’t really interested and had no idea what CharityRx was about, but after talking with Anita for a while, I said yes–I would join the team. As I learned more about this company and the vision behind CharityRx, it became clear to me that this is a company whose mission, core values, and vision I can get with. I view CharityRx as already a success and as history in the making. I am happy and honored to be on the ground floor and a part of the growth of this company.
Mahatma Gandhi said, “Be the change you want to see in the world.” We can all practice this principle using the CharityRx platform, and we are a different company making a difference.
Roadblocks:
I believe it’s vitally important to have an aim and a goal to shoot for so that I can focus on the end goal rather than roadblocks or obstacles. There are only speed bumps in the road to the fulfillment of my dreams and goals in life. Yes, I experienced speed bumps and sometimes still do, but I don’t stop for speed bumps; I only slow down just long enough to get over them.
Solution:
I don’t dwell on or give too much attention to obstacles. What you give attention to or focus on expands, so why focus on obstacles when I can focus on life as I imagine it to be? Which is far better!
What do you enjoy most about working for CharityRx?
Every day is new and different, and I get to set a new goal for each day. I am excited to represent the CharityRx name and brand and be a part of its growth, and I view this opportunity as an investment in my future.
What’s your best advice for other reps?
Set big goals for yourself and commit yourself to achieve them. If you don’t know where you’re going, any road will take you there! Believe in yourself and stay focused on the result and not the journey.
“The race is not given to the swift or to the strong but to the one who endures to the end.”
– Ecclesiastes 9:11
It has become a practice to control my self-talk. It’s vitally important to feed on a mental diet of positive affirmations continuously. Thoughts are things, and as a man thinks, so is he. Since it’s impossible not to think, why not think your best thoughts? I listen to music at times to inspire me. One favorite is Luther Vandross’s song, “The Impossible Dream.”
What’s the key to your success?
The biggest key to my success is knowing and living according to universal laws and principles. According to “The Identical Harvest” by Neville Goddard, “before you reap success, you must plant success.”
